Job Opportunity

The staff accountant position entails financial reporting of ten to twelve properties.

  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations and other supporting schedules.
  • Collaborate with outside certified public accounting firms and auditors.
  • Support onsite property management teams.
  • Review general ledger entries and process monthly journal entries.
  • Assess income statements and provide variance analysis.
  • Identify operational improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Evaluate and process assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred or currently pursuing.
  • 2-4 years related experience.
  • Familiarity with multiple entity ownership structures.
  • Prior experience in multifamily settings is advantageous for the staff accountant role, but commercial experience will be considered.
  • Partnership accounting experience necessary.
  • GAAP knowledge required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with customer service focus and attention to detail.
  • Prior experience with Yardi Voyager online system beneficial.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and acts proactively.
  • Able to solve problems independently.
  • Effective communicator at all levels of an organization.
