Software Engineering Manager Position Overview

This is a leadership role within the Sustaining Engineering team responsible for managing and leading distributed teams of engineers.

  • Manage and lead distributed teams of engineers
  • Ensure effective technical delivery, strategy, and execution across multiple technology fields
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in all interactions with stakeholders
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team performance and success

Key qualifications for this position include:

  • Professional software delivery experience using C, C++, Go, Python, or similar
  • Strong technical leadership skills with a solid background in software development
  • Experience with version control systems such as git and debugging tools like gdb, crash, or other
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language, both verbal and written
  • Experience with Linux and a preference towards Ubuntu
  • Knowledge of Open Source and Open Source Business Models
  • Previous experience as a people manager in a support organization is desirable
