Financial Transaction Analyst

The Income Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of hotel revenue transactions. This position is responsible for auditing all revenue transactions to ensure consistency with hotel standards and local policies and procedures.

• Audit outlet reports and reconcile them with Opera for accuracy, ensuring genuine discounts are given.
  
• Control and reconcile daily sales in outlets.
  
• Audit F&B and other hotel revenue generated to ensure accuracy.
  
• Audit credit card transactions for accuracy, ensuring POS details summary reports agree with Opera.
  
• Verify authenticity of FO paid outs/rebates and outlet rebates for accuracy.
  
• Collaborate with Credit Supervisor on daily basis PM and permanent folios.
  
• Audit administrative PM folios and lost interface posting charges, analyzing and transferring them to respective accounts/folios.
  
• Perform month-end closing and ensure trial balance agrees with general ledger.
  
• Prepare daily and monthly revenue reports for management.
  
• Reconcile third-party revenue with Opera & Micros and finalize settlements (including those for Dive Center & Gift Shop).
  
• Finalize monthly staff PM deductions for each month (including third parties like dive instructors).
  
• Check Daily Bicycle Rental revenue posted by FO into Opera and report any discrepancies.
  
• Identify and report discrepancies in Daily Excursion Revenue posted by FO into Opera.
  
• Train Front Office Reception staff on Opera postings, accounting or system-related issues, No Show Procedure, etc.
  
• Prepare Month-End Tips Reports for all outlets.
  
• Check Bed Tax Report and communicate with Front Office for updating; send final report to Asst. Dir. of Finance / Dir. of Finance.
  
• Prepare reports or work requested by Dir. of Finance.
  
• Verify accuracy of all revenue figures, identify variances, and obtain explanations from personnel.
  
• Ensure Spa Soft report and Opera revenue figures match up daily.
  

• The trial balance should tally with that of Opera.
  
• Night Auditor figures should tally with Daily Revenue Report & Opera Trial Balance.
  
• Micros Revenue Reports should tally with Daily Revenue Report & Opera Trial Balance.
  
• Make physical spot checks in all outlets.
  
• Submit daily rebates, paid outs, and PM Master folios to Director of Finance for review and approval.
  
• Maintain proper filing and record retention and be familiar with Income Audit policies and procedures.
  
• Be familiar completely with hotel systems P.M.S., P.O.S. (Opera, Micros, Sun System).
  
• Check Micros and Opera reports for accuracy and unusual transactions, verify and audit adjustments and corrections.
  
• Carry out any other accounting work assigned by Director of Finance.
  
• Be familiar with hotel Income audit Finance policies.
  

• Responsibilities include analyzing night audit work for accuracy and completeness, verifying allowances and miscellaneous postings for proper authorization and coding, and preparing daily revenue report.
  
• Responsible for all daily income of the Hotel.
  
• On a daily basis, verify that daily-created Opera night audit spool files are working correctly.
  
• Closely audit trial balance, verifying no control sums for Guest Ledger, City Ledger, and Deposit Ledger, reporting discrepancies to Director of Finance and investigating differences.
  
• Sort and file back-up received in night audit files from night receptionist, liaising closely with night auditor and reviewing night audit work daily for accuracy.
  
• Work closely with Front Office (FO) and Food & Beverage (F&B) to ensure postings are accurate and any discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
  
• Create, review, and save daily Gross Revenue Report (GRR) for management by 09:35 AM.
  
• Review all rebates and allowances, ensuring they are properly authorized and reporting deviations from prevailing policies and procedures.
  
• Verification of revenue from Rooms, Food and Beverage, and other Operational Departments, rectifying any discrepancies.
  
• Ensure timely preparation and distribution of daily revenue report.
  
• Verify all Food and Beverage discounted/complimentary checks are justified, properly recorded into POS system.
