The Role
  • We're seeking an experienced editor with 3+ years of professional experience in contemporary romance, strong ghostwriting or scene drafting experience, and advanced command of grammar, dialogue pacing, and formatting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developmental & Line Editing: Enhance emotional arcs, refine characterization, and sharpen pacing while maintaining the author's voice.
  • Scene Drafting: Write seamless new material when needed, matching the author's style.
  • Copyediting: Ensure every line is clean, consistent, and immersive.
  • Genre Coaching: Align heat levels, payoffs, and beats with contemporary romance expectations.
  • Collaboration: Deliver feedback via tracked changes, editorial letters, and occasional live calls.
  • Multi-Project Management: Balance multiple manuscripts while maintaining high editorial standards.

This position requires a deep understanding of what makes a romance novel binge-worthy and the ability to deliver emotional depth and satisfying happy endings.
