Assistant Manager, Asia Privacy

Job Description

The Assistant Manager supports the Global Compliance team by overseeing the Privacy Risk Management Program across various markets. This role involves managing privacy incidents, tracking legislative updates, and preparing reports for stakeholders, all while ensuring alignment with regional standards and guidelines.

This role is responsible for developing and coordinating annual privacy training plans and awareness campaigns globally, aligning with regional objectives. Additionally, it involves leading and conducting training sessions for Privacy Officers and stakeholders, tracking attendance, and maintaining updated privacy materials.

Furthermore, this role participates in Information Protection Education Team (IPET) meetings to provide privacy insights and feedback on training and awareness materials from a global perspective. It also oversees privacy incident management for moderate or higher-rated incidents, collaborates with Legal Counsel on legislative updates, and performs Quality Assurance (QA) on privacy controls.

Lastly, this role creates and maintains a privacy dashboard for monitoring and reporting incidents, and supports the privacy risk management program, focusing on process streamlining and compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in privacy, compliance, or a related field, preferably within a multinational organization or across multiple Asian markets.
  • Strong understanding of privacy laws and regulations across Asia, such as PDPA and GDPR principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or additional certifications in Privacy or Compliance (such as CIPP/Asia) is a plus.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and QA on privacy controls and practices.
