Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Applications Engineer to join our team at Deltek.

  • You will design, develop, and maintain complex business applications that support our global business units.
  • You will research and analyze business requirements to provide conceptual and detailed designs that meet the needs of various business applications.
  • You will apply your knowledge of systems and databases to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems using technical skills such as SQL and configuration setup.
  • You will participate in code reviews and change management (release) process to develop and implement new applications and updates to existing applications.
  • You will interface with third-party software vendors to escalate and resolve integration and software/technical issues.
  • You will maintain awareness of emerging tools, software practices, and technologies to improve solution cost and quality.
  • You will develop and maintain architectural documentation to sustain system integrity and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • You will collaborate with senior-level management, business owners, solution architects, business system analysts, project managers, and other engineers/developers to discuss technical options to meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex business applications that support our global business units.
  • Analyze business requirements and provide conceptual and detailed designs that meet the needs of various business applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems using technical skills such as SQL and configuration setup.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience working in an IT environment is required.
  • At least 6-8 years of experience as a developer and/or system engineer is required.
  • Experience leading complex projects/tasks is required.
  • Strong hands-on experience with a variety of code, interface, API, and database concepts is required.
  • Experience in full project life cycle development for systems and applications is required.
  • Experience integrating and customizing business applications is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels, is required.
  • A strong desire to learn the latest technologies and the ability to acquire knowledge quickly is required.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills are required.
