Financial Specialist Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced financial specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for maintaining accurate financial records, enjoy contributing to the success of a forward-thinking company, and thrive in an established environment.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring seamless bookkeeping processes.
  • Process daily transactions in QuickBooks Online.
  • Manage invoices, receipts, purchase orders, accounts payable/receivable, and supplier/vendor payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger monthly.
  • Reconcile company credit card statements monthly.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports using Excel and Fathom.
  • Compile expense submissions via Dext.
  • Support payroll activities, issue refunds, and supplier payments.
  • Identify and correct errors or discrepancies, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Assist with audit preparation and reporting as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a remote environment or the cannabis industry.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Experience with Fathom (or comparable financial reporting platforms).
  • Comfortable using Dext or similar receipt-processing tools.
  • Solid understanding of AP, AR, reconciliation, general ledger, and financial compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving acumen.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
