Key Tax Compliance Professional

The role of a tax compliance professional is pivotal in maintaining a business's integrity by ensuring adherence to all relevant tax laws and regulations. In this position, you will be responsible for leading the compliance function, overseeing tax return preparation, and managing a team of staff members.
- Directly supervise staff and review tax returns prepared by the team to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review complex individual and business returns (1120, 1120s, 1065, not for profit, 1041s) to guarantee compliance with federal and state tax laws.
- Offer guidance and support to junior team members, assisting them in diagnosing issues in tax preparation software.
- Develop and implement processes to enhance team productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain effective communication with clients to obtain necessary information and provide regular updates on their tax matters.
- Ensure prompt responses to notices received from tax authorities.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Possess extensive knowledge of US Federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Have experience with forms 1120, 1120s, 1065, 1040, 1041, and not for profit return; preparation and review.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Experience preparing returns in ProSeries is highly desirable.
- Demonstrate ability to manage a team and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exhibit exceptional communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
