Job Responsibilities
  • Develops and reviews digital artwork to ensure compliance with client and printing guidelines, utilizing standard packaging requirements and technical specifications.
  • Applies and checks printer specifications, such as overprint, knockout, min dot, and BWR.
  • Creates separations, remapping colors to proper separations, trapping, overprinting, knockouts, imposition, bleeding, and color correction, requiring decision-making regarding line screen and compensation curves using given parameters.
  • Utilizes knowledge of pre-press and printing capabilities to determine style, technique, and medium best suited for desired effects.
  • Reviews graphics at various stages of completion and makes necessary changes to ensure designs meet printer requirements and approval.
  • Completes preflight activities – reviewing digital files to ensure print readiness.
  • Ensures all work performed adheres to department SOPs, checking, signing off, and dating checklists.
  • Manages personnel daily and accepts responsibility for assigned tasks and production-related duties.
  • Supports development and implementation of training programs to upgrade skills of entry-level associates.
  • Recommends staffing requirements weekly and redeploy resources during the week as needed to address shifting manning needs or changes in priorities and scheduling.
  • Guarantees smooth execution throughout the project and ensures work delivery against communication objectives and graphics parameters.
  • Analyzes client needs and expectations, communicating these to relevant departments to ensure seamless meeting and satisfaction.
  • Maintains documentation related to the production process.
Qualifications Experience

Required

Three years of work experience from a design agency or the packaging industry.

Three years in Prepress.

Three years in Adobe Creative Suite.
