Highly Skilled Software Craftsman Wanted

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Development Team, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding our systems both internal and customer-facing.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring the seamless delivery of our services, while also driving innovation and growth through the development of new features and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and enhance existing systems with new functionality, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Investigate and resolve reported issues in a timely and effective manner, minimizing downtime and disruption to our customers.
- Guide maintenance and design of legacy and database systems/applications, leveraging your expertise to drive business outcomes.
- Developing test cases and testing of code developed by yourself and others, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Provide support to the wider development team, sharing your knowledge and expertise to drive collective success.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to accurately scope and design system requirements, fostering collaboration and alignment across teams.
- Maintain documentation for internal systems, APIs, and databases, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the development lifecycle.
- Adhere to security best practices, safeguarding our systems and data against threats and vulnerabilities.
- MAMP (Linux experience is a plus)
- Laravel
- Database design, implementation, and management experience (database systems in a subscription service industry is a plus)
- PHP
- MySQL
- GitHub
- Consuming and publishing APIs (Soap, restful, oauth, swagger)
- Strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to work in remote-based teams.
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role, ideally within telecommunications.
- Experience working in remote-based teams.
- Extensive experience on database design, implementation, and management (within service-based systems, ideally).
- Experience working with maintenance programming and enhancing functionality in existing systems.
- Strong understanding of SQL queries.
- Strong understanding of PHP and GitHub.
- Strong understanding of Laravel framework.
- Initiative to 'roll up your sleeves' and figure things out when necessary.
- Ability to problem solve and work independently and as part of the development team.
