Data Storage Specialist Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Storage Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to provide service and support to various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform database tuning and performance monitoring to ensure optimal data storage and retrieval.
  • Install, upgrade, patch, and troubleshoot SQL Server databases to maintain high levels of data integrity and availability.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans for SQL Servers and Application Servers to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Respond promptly to database and application performance issues, taking immediate action to resolve problems and minimize impact on business operations.
  • Execute database and application implementations/deployments to meet business needs and deadlines.
  • Perform regular backups and restore procedures as needed or requested to ensure data recoverability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Administer third-party applications to ensure seamless integration with in-house systems and minimal disruptions to business processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2-3 years' experience working with IAAS and PAAS databases; SQL Server Databases.
  • Strong understanding of Relational Database Management System concepts and principles.
  • Intermediate skills in SQL Scripting, PowerShell, MS SQL, Azure, FTP/SFTP, SSIS, DTA, SQL Profiler.
  • Experience in Database Management and Administration.
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery Planning & High Availability Setup.
  • SQL Server / Database Troubleshooting Skills.
  • Knowledge of change & release management, ITIL4, and project management.
  • Experience working in DevOps environments or familiarity with DevOps.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle.
  • Amenable to work in a hybrid setup (onsite and remote) with flexible shift schedules assigned based on business needs.
