Private Equity Fund Accountant

The role of Private Equity Fund Accountant is pivotal in providing accounting services for private equity fund clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage transaction preparation and processing for private equity fund clients, generating financial reports for review and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Respond to client inquiries promptly and accurately, handling communication related to capital calls, distributions, and report requests.
  • Review calculations for fees, including management fees, capital calls, distributions, carried interest, and waterfall structures, ensuring compliance with fund agreements.
  • Aid in onboarding new funds and launching existing ones by defining customized service models and contributing to technology solutions that enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Support year-end audits by assisting clients in responding to external auditors' inquiries and participating in strategic planning and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a focus on Accounting.
  • Internationally recognized accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, CA) is highly valued.
  • At least 6 years of accounting experience, particularly in private equity, or a mix of audit/fund administration and private equity experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with various accounting standards, including IFRS and US GAAP.
