Medical Coding Team Lead

This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of a medical coding team.

Job Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of medical coders to ensure productivity and quality meet client requirements.

Monitor team utilization, identify gaps, and implement corrective solutions.

Foster process improvements and facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates on trends and changes.

Develop and implement training programs to enhance team performance.

Evaluate and improve coding accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Participate in client calls and communicate effectively with team members.

Requirements

Education and Certification:

A degree in Life Sciences, such as Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nursing, or Biosciences, is required.

Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from AAPC or AHIMA is necessary.

A minimum of 6 years of experience in coding, auditing, and reimbursement is preferred.

Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems is essential.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are required.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.

Familiarity with coding software and systems is an advantage.
