Workday Certified Payroll Consultant Job Description

This role is responsible for ensuring the successful deployment of Workday solutions by architecting, configuring and testing to meet specific client needs.

The consultant will work closely with team members and independently manage workload to deliver product demonstrations, foster development of other consultants, and support proposal preparations.

The ideal candidate will provide expertise in Workday Payroll (including Absence or Time Tracking) product suite and lead teams in gathering and documenting client business requirements, designing and configuring Workday solution, demonstrating configurations through prototype systems, assisting in testing, and completing knowledge transfer to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertise in Workday Payroll (including Absence or Time Tracking) product suite
  • Lead teams in gathering and documenting client business requirements, designing and configuring Workday solution, demonstrating configurations through prototype systems, assisting in testing, and completing knowledge transfer to clients
  • Work with confidential client/data conversion team to help convert legacy data into Workday
  • Assist integration consulting team in configuring and testing integrations between Workday and other third-party or custom solutions
  • Mentor new consultants and serve as a professional role model, coach others on product knowledge
  • Resolve complex tasks/requirements when other team members need support
  • Facilitate clients' intellectual and practical adoption of Workday best practices
  • Maintain clients' ongoing satisfaction, ensuring referenceable and referable once in production
  • Provide regular status reports to project managers keeping them apprised of overall project status
  • Innovate and suggest new approaches and tools to deploy Workday efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain Workday certifications and qualifications
  • Ensure functional solutions are compatible with downstream data translation (assist integrators in configuring/testing integrations between Workday and external systems)
  • Demonstrate computational thinking. Identify problem components, analyze patterns, remove inefficient configurations or processes, and construct algorithmic solutions scalable to ongoing client needs
  • Contribute to and mold a culture of continuous education amongst your colleagues, mentees, and managers - serve as a professional role model
  • Provide insightful status reports to project managers that highlight risks to project health and improvements in client adoption
