The World Bank Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental and Social Dev Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the organization, this professional will play a crucial role in supporting infrastructure and energy transactions in the East Asia and Pacific region.
About the Role:
This senior specialist will be responsible for providing guidance and support to clients and IFC's investment and advisory teams on E&S risk assessment and management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in E&S risk management and experience working with international financial institutions (IFIs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead E&S due diligence for new investments in infrastructure, energy, oil, and gas sectors.
- Provide expertise to IFC investment teams on E&S risk management throughout the investment cycle.
- Monitor portfolio clients and ensure compliance with contractual E&S requirements.
- Contribute to portfolio analysis and identify systemic issues and trends.
Requirements:
- Master's degree or equivalent in environmental management/engineering, economics, or a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in E&S risk management, preferably in the private sector.
- Demonstrable familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and experience working with IFIs.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to think strategically and adapt to changing circumstances.
