Senior Site Reliability Engineer Role

This is a high-pressure operations environment with mission-critical services for global brand name customers.

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and running OpenStack, Kubernetes and software defined storage, and enabling devsecops for applications running on that infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python software-engineering skills and rigour in the operations domain, with experience in automation and a universal operator pattern and model-driven operations.

They will also be able to approach operations as a science, relying on metrics and code, and learn the entire stack from bare metal networking and kernel up to serverless and open source applications.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will work in a globally remote role, collaborating with colleagues across multiple countries, and attend company events twice a year in person.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and run OpenStack, Kubernetes and software defined storage environments.
  • Enable devsecops for applications running on that infrastructure.
  • Operate cloud environments with hundreds of private cloud, Kubernetes, and application clusters.
  • Approach operations as a science: rely on metrics and code.
  • Learn the entire stack from bare metal networking and kernel up to serverless and open source applications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience with Linux and familiarity with Linux networking and storage.
  • Python software development expertise.
  • Operational experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
Nice-to-have Skills
  • Experience with OpenStack or Kubernetes deployment or operations.
  • Familiarity with public or private cloud management.
