As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring adherence to accounting principles, policies, and procedures.

Job Description

">

The successful candidate will partner closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve efficiencies, and implement best practices for financial reporting. Key responsibilities include:

  • ">
  • Management of ancillary revenue streams, including invoicing and debtor management">
  • Management of sales settlements, including commission invoicing and review of final payments">
  • Daily bank reconciliations">
  • All general accounting duties, including reconciliation, monthly customer invoicing, and debtor management">
  • Weekly vendor payments">
  • Ownership of the general ledger and its coding and classing accuracy">
  • End of Month processes, including internal recovery journals, prepayments, and accruals">
  • Preparation of monthly group reporting and analysis">
  • Balance sheet management and monthly reconciliation">
  • Support and work closely with the accounts assistant (Accts Payable)">
  • Assistance with the annual budgeting process">
  • Liaise and provide relevant information for external and internal audits">
  • Support continuous improvement in accounting procedures and systems">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

">
  • ">
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting">
  • At least 1 year of experience in Australian public practice in Bookkeeping">
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in AU Accounting with a focus on Australian clients, preferably real estate-based">
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks">
  • Strong English communication and interpersonal skills">
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines">
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft programs, particularly Excel">
  • Sound knowledge of costing and management accounting practices">
  • Good understanding of Australian tax principles, including GST and FBT">
  • Excellent time management skills">
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people">
  • Reliable internet connection and home office setup">
  • Willingness to start immediately">
