Job Description

This position involves a range of financial responsibilities, including the maintenance of accurate financial records, preparation of reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

The role covers various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. It also entails assistance with ad hoc and monthly reporting, as well as ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company policies.

  • Maintain and update general ledgers, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Assistance with preparation of ad hoc & monthly reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) and company policies.
  • Assistance with treatment of prepayments, accruals & capitalization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verifies Payables entries to the correct subsidiary, department, and location.
  • Reporting on Payables & Receivables, assisting both the AP & AR departments in reporting, complete with days outstanding calculations.

Reconciliations & Analysis

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control.
  • Project (costs) Accounting.
  • Manage the AP Team's credit card processing & refinements.

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for regulatory reporting.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requested by management.
  • Assist with company policies (implementation) & policing/monitoring.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification or equivalent (preferred).
  • Proven experience in general accounting or a related field.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Australian standards is optimal, NZ & US additional.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (i.e. Oracle NetSuite preferred) and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
