Job Title: Digital Building Integration Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Digital Building Integration Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring clients and partners receive exceptional support with fault detection and diagnostics products.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver high-quality support to clients and partners with fault detection and diagnostics products.
  2. Collaborate on onboarding projects and communicate timelines and milestones to ensure analytics meets expectations.
  3. Conduct onboarding activities such as installing data collection services, discovering data, and organizing for digital building engineers.
  4. Troubleshoot diagnostics to perform automated fault detection on customer HVAC equipment.
  5. Review findings and validate results reported by software.
  6. Train and engage customer and partner users on data transfer service, data connectivity, and related networking issues.
  7. Provide ongoing support of connected sites.
Qualifications
  • Confident, self-motivated individual who can quickly grasp new technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable communicating with customers and partners.
  • Mechanical engineering or related technical degree or 5–6 years of related industry experience.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in HVAC, controls, or fault detection and diagnostics.
  • Exposure to BAS protocols such as BACnet, Haystack, oBIX, and Modbus.
  • Exposure to BAS networking principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ideal candidate has exposure to automated ongoing commissioning, fault detection and diagnostics, performance measurement and verification.
  • Ideal candidate has exposure to metadata applications such as use of tags and standards, e.g., Project Haystack.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or related technical degree) and interest in building systems or significant field experience in a controls or services company serving the buildings industry.
  • Certificate or equivalent experience in basic networking or computer fundamentals (familiar with firewall, server, basic networking commands).
  • Learns technical and engineering solutions quickly and thoroughly, strives to improve upon them.
  • Effectively communicates technical information to customers over the phone and through emails.
  • Manages multiple projects, in multiple countries, at the same time.
  • Thorough and analytical with good attention to detail.
  • Creatively streamlines processes and finds efficiencies for executing complex technical tasks.
  • Effectively conveys product development ideas to leadership and product development teams.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where work processes are established and constantly refined.
  • Motivated about changing the built environment with new tools, technologies, and business models.
  • Prefers a close-knit, passionate environment where communication is key and the learning experience is invaluable.
