Job Title: Accounting SpecialistAbout the Role

The ideal candidate will perform routine accounting activities including payroll, general ledger posting, accounts payable and receivable functions, and preparation of various accounting reports and financial statements.

This role is responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including cash flows for multiple clients and industries. Additional responsibilities include preparing bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations, reviewing accounts for appropriate postings and calculating retained earnings, and assisting clients with accounting, payroll, and basic software issues.

The Accounting Specialist will also prepare quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns, assist tax/accounting and audit departments with reports from client information, prepare annual information returns (1099 & 1096), and prepare monthly/quarterly sales and use and CAT tax returns when applicable. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for identifying potential additional services to benefit current clients, adding and disposing of fixed assets, updating depreciation schedules, and reconciling balance sheet accounts to supporting data.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field
  • US Accounting experience is a must
  • Strong understanding of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and practices, with proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively in a remote team environment
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering accurate and timely work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
