Accounting Manager Job

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial accounting and transaction processing.

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring adherence to the timeline and checklist.
  • Review final profit & loss (P&L) scrub and approve journal entries prepared by staff.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the balance sheet workbook, including spot-checking source document filing.
  • Review and update financial notes, charts, graphs, and footnotes to ensure alignment with KPIs and executive summaries.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial reports through variance analysis.
  • Review staff-prepared financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure financial accuracy and consistency across all reports and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Close & Month-End Management: Lead the month-end close process, review final P&L scrub, and ensure accuracy of balance sheet workbooks.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Management: Lead budgeting efforts, provide financial insights, and maintain cash flow forecasts.
  • Tax Compliance & Regulatory Filings: Prepare and submit sales tax returns, coordinate annual 1099s, and support personal property tax filings.
  • Accounting Operations & Oversight: Manage recurring weekly accounting processes, review customer invoicing, and supervise junior accounting staff.
  • Process Improvement & Client Advisory: Identify opportunities for process efficiencies, refine financial models, and improve data structure in Excel.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in financial close, variance analysis, and payroll processing.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, data structuring, and financial modeling).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and accounting best practices is a plus.
  • Ability to work at least 5 hours in Pacific Standard Time.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.
