Software Professional - Cross-Platform Development

The Multipass team is seeking a skilled software professional to join our distributed workforce. Quality and user experience are of utmost importance in our code.

Multipass is available on macOS, Windows, and Linux platforms. It allows developers to create local workstations with features similar to cloud services like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Our goal is not to replicate the functionality of public clouds but to provide a localized solution for running builds in the background, testing cloud deployments, and trying cloud-init scripts without incurring costs.

As a software professional, you will be expected to play a leadership role in designing, mentoring, reviewing, and coding.

  • Ensure Multipass is intuitive and easy to use
  • Architect new features and design user experiences
  • Write high-quality code to create new features and resolve bugs
  • Review code and architecture as part of Canonical's engineering process
  • Collaborate proactively with a distributed team
  • Debug and fix issues encountered by users
  • Foster open-source community engagement and support customers when needed
  • Travel internationally for company events, up to two weeks, twice a year
