Job Overview

As a part-time backend developer, you will be working on building and maintaining our software systems. Your primary responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying web applications from concept to deployment, as well as integrating user-facing elements with server-side logic.

This role requires strong programming skills, particularly in languages like Python and Node.js. You should have a solid understanding of database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, as well as RESTful API design. Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines is also necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop web applications from concept to deployment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
  • Develop server-side code using languages like Python and Node.js
  • Implement database schemas, queries, and interactions with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services for functionality and data exchange
  • Conduct code reviews and maintain high code quality standards
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues, providing timely resolutions
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to improve development processes and capabilities
Requirements
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Adaptability to work within Eastern Standard Time for efficient collaboration
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python and Node.js
  • Strong understanding of database management systems and RESTful API design
  • Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with cloud services (optional)
