Senior Visual Storyteller

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Post-Production Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the post-production process and drive project success.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in visual effects supervision, direction, and execution, as well as expertise in audio and video editing. They will be responsible for ensuring high-quality standards across all outputs and collaborating closely with directors, cinematographers, production designers, and post teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Visual Effects Supervision and Direction: supervise the planning, execution, and integration of visual effects in multimedia projects, ensuring alignment with the director's vision and creative objectives.
2. Oversee on-set VFX requirements: green screen setup, tracking markers, lighting references, and data capture for seamless post-production compositing.
3. Lead Creative and Technical Direction: ensure accuracy, realism, and consistency in animation, simulations, and effects.
4. Review, Critique, and Approve: VFX sequences and assets to maintain high-quality standards across all outputs.
5. Collaborate Closely: directors, cinematographers, production designers, and post teams to determine the most efficient and effective VFX solutions.

Audio and Video Editing

1. Edit Sound, Video or Combined Files: using industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
2. Record, Edit, and Mix Audio Tracks: enhancing sound quality and adding effects as necessary.
3. Create and Integrate Animation: sound effects, titles, subtitles, and other visual elements into projects.
4. Curate and Maintain Sound Libraries: for use in post-production work.

Quality Assurance and Control

1. Conduct Quality Assurance Checks: ensuring alignment with creative intent and technical specifications.
2. Utilize Various Techniques: enhance video and audio quality for clarity and impact.
3. Adhere to Directives and Feedback: from directors, producers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
4. Showcase Expertise: in each project, possessing comprehensive knowledge of its storyline and technical requirements.

Project Management

1. Perform General Post-Production Duties: media ingestion, troubleshooting, and delivery to producers.
2. Manage Project Timelines and Budgets: ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to financial constraints.
3. Provide Accurate Estimates: for project scopes using industry-standard methods.
4. Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: ensuring smooth project workflow.

Pitches and Presentations

1. Participate in Pitch Presentations: providing support and insights in the role.
2. Assist in Preparing Materials: communicating ideas effectively to internal teams and clients.

Industry Knowledge

1. Stay Updated on Industry Trends: market developments and opportunities around the advertising, digital, creative, technology, marketing, and consulting industries.
2. Best Practices Related to Creative Operations: stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to creative operations and project management.
3. Training Programs and Workshops: participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge in operational processes and tools.
4. Collaborate with Team Members: share insights and best practices for continuous improvement.

AI Research and Development

1. Explore Emerging AI Tools: models, and technologies relevant to post-production, VFX, animation, and sound design workflows.
2. Develop and Test AI-Powered Solutions: automating repetitive tasks, enhancing creative capabilities, and accelerating turnaround times.
3. Collaborate Internally: pilot AI-assisted tools such as generative fill, rotoscoping, motion tracking, speech enhancement, and style transfer.
4. Stay Updated with Advancements: in machine learning, computer vision, and generative media to assess potential applications for content creation.
5. Document Research Findings: share best practices with team members to support adoption of AI in daily workflows.
6. Partner with Developers: creatives, and producers to integrate AI solutions in a way that enhances—not replaces—human creativity and decision-making.
