Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Marivent Hotels and Resorts Inc. In this role, you will oversee the financial operations of our hospitality business, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and leadership, with experience in the hospitality industry. You will be responsible for managing the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial functions. Additionally, you will analyze financial data to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ledgers, and reports in compliance with accounting standards.
• Ensure accuracy of processing of invoices and reconcile accounts payables.
• Analyze financial data to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements.
• Manage expense accounts, prepare cash position reports, and ensure proper delegation of tasks within the accounting team.
• Coordinate external audits and implement recommendations for procedural improvements.
• Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard assets.
• Monitor and enhance accounting systems and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of bank statements and other financial accounts.
• Prepare financial analysis and reports for management, including variance analysis and financial performance metrics.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making specific to hospitality operations.
• Manage and optimize the use of accounting software and financial systems, including property management systems (PMS).
• Stay updated with technology trends and recommend system upgrades or changes as necessary.
• Monitor and analyze cost control measures, including food and beverage costs, labor costs, and operational expenses.
• Implement strategies to improve cost efficiency without compromising service quality.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA may be preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting specific to hospitality.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
