We are seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to establish and lead our offshore engineering team.

This player-coach role will be responsible for building a team of engineers, overseeing development, and collaborating closely with our VPE, Agile Delivery Manager, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard 5-6 engineers within the first 3 months
  • Spend 30-40% of time coding alongside the team
  • Own the RUN workstream (bug fixes and customer enhancements)
  • Partner with Agile Delivery Manager to define delivery process
  • Maintain knowledge transfer from UK team during ramp-up period

Tech Expertise Required

  • Expert-level PHP/Laravel knowledge
  • Strong understanding of MySQL, Redis, and caching strategies
  • Experience with AWS services
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices
L&C Expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and build teams from scratch
  • Experience managing mid to senior-level engineers
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Strong async communication skills for distributed team collaboration
