The role of Server Infrastructure Network Engineer is to oversee the lifecycle of server infrastructure products and services. This involves designing, planning, implementing, delivering, and maintaining these systems on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform virtual machine migrations across multiple environments with minimal downtime to ensure continuous service delivery.
  • Administer and maintain Linux-based systems supporting production workloads, ensuring high levels of performance and reliability.
  • Manage and operate hypervisor platforms for provisioning, migration, and lifecycle management of virtual machines.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts in Bash, Perl, and Python to support migration, monitoring, and routine operations.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure automation using Puppet and Ansible for system configuration, deployment, and scaling.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and review Migration Plans (MOPs) and Change Management Requests (CMRs).
  • Perform scheduled out-of-hours maintenance in alignment with change management processes to minimize disruptions.
  • Support the decommissioning of legacy systems, including service removal, data sanitization, and e-waste compliance.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of system, process, and migration information.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration.
  • Proven expertise with hypervisors: Proxmox VE and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages: Bash, Perl, and Python.
  • Practical experience with infrastructure automation tools: Puppet and Ansible.
  • Track record of successful VM migrations in enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of change management practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills in virtualized and Linux environments.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including out-of-hours maintenance windows.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
