Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research, development, testing, and reformulation of various fuels and petroleum-related products.

This role involves evaluating raw materials for alternative sourcing or upgrading of said products, assisting in product field performance evaluation, recommending disposal schemes of slow and non-moving products and raw materials, and maintaining product documentation and other technical information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts research, development, testing, and reformulation of fuels, lubes, greases, asphalt, specialty, and other petroleum-related products.
  • Research and development activities include laboratory testing, analysis, and evaluation of raw materials, processes, and product formulations.
  • Undertakes technology review and literature research on additives for quality upgrading of fuels, lubes, greases, asphalts, specialties, and other petroleum-related products.
  • Assists in field performance evaluation of all petroleum products as necessary.
  • Evaluates and analyses product quality concerns.
  • Coordinates with operations in handling and doping of fuels, biofuels, lubes, greases, additives, specialties, and other petroleum-related products.
  • Recommends disposal schemes of slow and non-moving products and other materials.
  • Updates product bulletins, material specification sheets, blending instruction sheets, and manufacturing instruction sheets for fuels, lubes, greases, asphalts, specialties, and other petroleum-related products.
  • Updates lube oil blending plant manufacturing when there are changes in raw material properties.
  • Coordinates with technology providers and suppliers on raw material specifications and formulations.
  • Handles maintenance of TPD laboratories and minor troubleshooting and calibration & PM of laboratory instruments.
  • Performs other duties as required by the manager from time to time such as coordination meetings with pertinent groups within the company, compliance with regulatory requirements that impact product development and quality, and attends job-enhancement programs such as seminars, trainings, forums, discussions, workshops, etc.

Requirements:

Education:

BS Chemistry, BS Biochemistry, BS Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.

Certifications:

PRC-licensed professional.

Experience:

At least 1 year technical and/or laboratory experience in the petroleum industry or related field, or newly graduate with good scholastic records.

Skills:
