Job Overview:

The Emergency Medical Services Assistant Manager plays a vital role in the planning, administration, and supervision of health and emergency medical programs at Newport World Resorts. This position is responsible for ensuring the morale and welfare of personnel are maintained at a high standard, while also promoting discipline and esprit de corps within the unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming calls and redirect them to the appropriate department or employee in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Operate radio, telephone, or computer equipment during emergency calls or reports, utilizing technical skills to provide effective support.
  • Provide emergency medical care and determine the right course of action after evaluating patient conditions, prioritizing patient well-being and safety above all else.
  • Coordinate the transfer of patients to base hospitals, ensuring seamless execution and minimizing response time.
  • Implement and enforce emergency response standards, sanitation, and hygiene protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Deliver professional emergency medical services, focusing on preserving life, preventing further injury, and promoting recovery during responses.
  • Communicate assessment findings with Duty Officers/Company Physicians to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Continuously assess patients and administer additional care while awaiting additional EMS resources and during transportation to emergency facilities.
Resources, Facilities, and Subordinates:
  • Investigate work-related and occupational illnesses and accidents, submitting comprehensive reports with recommendations for corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Promote occupational disease prevention and accident mitigation by identifying and controlling health hazards in the workplace.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director for Health and Emergency Medical Services to develop, implement, and monitor training programs, seminars, and information materials on health and emergency response matters for employees.
  • Contribute to developing, implementing, and monitoring health and emergency medical response programs in the workplace.
  • Schedule and assign EMS personnel for special functions, events, and activities, ensuring adequate staffing and resource allocation.
  • Supervise EMS Duty Officers and Responders, guiding them in providing timely interventions such as basic physical exams, patient assessments, medication administration, and emergency care.
  • Assist in creating and monitoring disaster preparedness plans and procedures, maintaining a proactive approach to emergency management.
  • Support the recommendation of EMS personnel for awards, promotions, and disciplinary actions, upholding fair and transparent decision-making processes.
Reporting and Documentation:
  • Submit thorough, accurate, and timely reports to the EMS Manager, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Investigate work-related and occupational illnesses and accidents, compiling comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Maintain complete and operational EMS equipment and materials for audit purposes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Educate personnel on proper escalation and communication procedures during incidents, emphasizing prompt and effective response.
  • Review and correct patient reports to ensure accurate documentation of services provided, maintaining data integrity.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director for Health and Emergency Medical Services to monitor and review health and emergency medical services policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret workplace illnesses and accidents, providing insights for process improvements and risk reduction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
  • Registered Nurse licensure
  • Accredited Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner certification
  • Emergency Medical Technician Training Course completion
  • At least three years of relevant experience in Emergency Medical Services
  • Strong knowledge of policy development, program management implementation, and monitoring
  • In-depth understanding of Basic and Advanced Life Support principles and practices
