Qualifications

Generic JQ (still awaiting JQ from client):

  • 6+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on implementing enterprise core network technologies.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, NAT, and QoS.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or Fortinet.
  • Experience with network design, configuration, and troubleshooting in complex, multi-site environments.
  • Knowledge of network security principles and best practices, including network segmentation, access control, and threat detection.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Network certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Job Description

  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise core network technologies including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other networking devices.
  • Configure and manage routing protocols and static routing to optimize network performance and reliability.
  • Implement and manage VLANs, spanning tree protocols (STP, RSTP, MSTP), and network segmentation to enhance network security and scalability.
  • Configure and manage network security appliances such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPN concentrators.
  • Monitor network performance, traffic, and utilization using network monitoring tools and implement proactive measures to optimize network performance.
  • Troubleshoot network issues, identify root causes, and implement timely resolutions to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems and applications.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and reliability of network operations.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in networking and network security.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to junior team members and other IT staff on network technologies and best practices.
