General Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, strategy, and coaching for quality engineers.
  • Align quality engineering goals with the overarching goals of the tech team and the greater organization.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing quality teams.
  • Manage manpower and budget through proper capacity analysis and understanding product needs.
  • Set clear objectives, expectations, and performance goals for team members.
  • Develop plans to address performance concerns with respect to the quality team.
  • Use data to objectively measure impact and optimize quality engineering processes and systems.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation, work quality, high performance, and continuous learning.
  • Work closely with product managers and business stakeholders to define project scope, priorities, and timelines.
  • Write policies and communicate with other business units about QA processes
  • Refine and standardize QA Standards in processes and artifacts for better
  • traceability.
  • Conducts cadences with the QA team to roll out plans and direction of the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years professional experience as a software engineer, quality engineer or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years experience as an engineering leader or quality assurance leader.
  • Strong leadership experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams, with a track record of building high-performing and motivated teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Fast learner and capable of high-level systems thinking.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in the management of agile software development and a metric driven approach to software quality and release management.
  • Knowledge in any scripting language (python, vb, bash, shell).
  • Knowledge and solid experience in Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and practices: Requirements Analysis, Test Planning, Test Case Writing/Design, Test Execution, Test Reporting/Documentation.
  • Solid understanding of test management and bug tracking tools (Xray, Jira).
  • Solid understanding of test automation tools (Pytest, Behave Framework, Selenium, Cucumber etc.).
  • Knowledge of Jenkins for automated scheduled testing runs.
  • Understanding of SQL scripts and able to write SQL to work with various databases.
  • Experience in defect triage and meetings.
  • Experience in handling multiple projects at a time
  • Familiarity with AWS and DevOps processes and strategies.
  • Experience working with blockchain, cryptocurrencies, exchanges, fintech highly preferred but not required.
