Job Responsibilities:

Initial Duties (first 6 months)

. Coordination of the Detection & Response system including closing out incident investigations with third-party analysts.

. Vulnerability management and remediation.

. Updating the Cyber Incident Response plan, process guides and incident reporting.

. Conduct investigations on suspicious emails to assess potential threats and process quarantined email release request.

. Perform periodic review of submitted email reports for accuracy and improvement of the email filtering system.

. Examine login fraud alerts submitted by users in relation to authentication requests.

. Run phishing simulation exercises to assess and enhance the organisationu0027s resilience against phishing attacks. Report on the results.

. Perform periodic review of application registrations in Azure and user dormancy.

GRC Duties (January 2025 Onwards)

. Documenting organisational, people, physical and technical security controls.

. Assisting in the improvement of controls under the supervision and guidance from the Head of ICT & Cyber Security.

. Assisting BG&E in the alignment ICT and security controls to meet security framework requirements. Examples of these frameworks include: The Essential 8, NIST CF and ISO27001 Information Security Management System.

. Assisting with bid and opportunity responses where they require information on Cyber security controls.

. Maintain the ICT risk register.

. Assist in updating Cyber and Information Security status reports.

. Other Cyber and/or information security activities as required by the Head of ICT and Cyber Security.

. Supporting the Cyber Security Analyst and the ICT Technical Support Analyst (Infrastructure) on projects and infrastructure remediation.

Qualifications:
. Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security or Risk Management.
Technical experience working in IT (administration, networking, end-user support) or as part of a Cyber Security team.

Competencies/Personality Traits:

. A desire to learn There will be a lot of training and education required.
. A keen interest in Information and Cyber Security.
. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to provide clear and concise advice on cyber risks both verbally and in writing.
. Demonstrated ability to apply a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and original thinking to identify and analyse complex problems, formulate, and implement innovative solutions and meet strict deadlines in an environment of continual change and growth.

Prior Experience:
. Knowledge of technical, people, physical and organisational controls used to reduce risk (Highly regarded if the candidate has experience implementing IT controls).
. Experience using and maintaining Identity Management systems such as Microsoft Active Directory / Entra ID.
