JOB TITLE: Linen Clerk / Chambermaid
REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
• Issues linen to Room Attendant/Chambermaid according to the systems and procedures as laid down by the Hotel Management.
• Takes inventory and control movement of soiled, damaged, and fresh linen.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Places linens in containers for transport to laundry.
2. Classifies/ sorts linens and counts and records number of items soiled.
3. Examines laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability.
4. Sends torn linens to the seamstress for repair.
5. Stores laundered linens on shelves after verifying numbers and types of linens.
6. Issues linens which are both to be exchange on a clean for soiled basis only.
7. Counts and records linens to fill requisition.
8. Checks periodically the condition of hotel linens.
9. Knows basic tailoring works.
10. Prepares daily the inventories of linens.
11. Ensures that the linens are neatly and systematically arranged and stacked.
12. Coordinates with the Room Attendant/Chambermaid and the Laundry Service {Provider of any linen concerns.
13. Receives sorts and double checks conditions of all linens and records all outgoing and incoming from laundry thoroughly before storing and issuing.
14. Separates linens that need repair and /or special treatment and forward it to tailor and/ or inform Housekeeping Supervisor for immediate action.
15. Assists Housekeeping Supervisor in checking quality and quantity of all new incoming linens to ensure they meet the Hotel’s specifications and provide new incoming stocks with accurate tagging/stamps.
16. Reports to Housekeeping Supervisor when stocks reach the minimum for order purposes.
17. Helps chambermaids in cleaning rooms and other housekeeping assigned areas.
18. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures including proper usage of accountable forms of Housekeeping Department.
19. Understands and strictly adheres to the Hotel’s Employees Rules and Regulations.
20. Reports for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
21. Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Management from time to time.

PREREQUISITES:
Education: A secondary school diploma is preferred. Physical mobility and stamina required. Ability to follow instructions. Detail-oriented. Professional attitude is required. Ability to work independently.

Experience: Previous hotel-related experience desired as Linen Clerk or Chambermaid.
