Job Summary:
The Associate Physician provides comprehensive medical care under the supervision of senior physicians or specialists, diagnosing and treating patients, and performing medical procedures within the scope of their expertise. This role is ideal for licensed medical professionals looking to gain more experience or focus on a particular medical field, while also collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Conduct medical assessments, gather patient history, perform physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests.
Diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions, illnesses, and injuries.
Prescribe medications, therapies, and treatments as appropriate, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
Provide preventive care, health education, and counseling to patients on lifestyle choices and chronic disease management.
Collaboration and Consultation:
Work closely with senior physicians, specialists, and healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
Consult with specialists and refer patients for advanced diagnostic tests, treatments, or surgeries as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with medical guidelines and regulations.
Clinical Procedures:
Perform routine medical procedures (e.g., minor surgeries, wound care, injections) under the guidance of senior physicians.
Assist in advanced medical procedures or surgeries as required.
Monitor and follow up on patient outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
Administrative and Documentation:
Complete patient charts, reports, and medical records with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ensure all patient documentation complies with HIPAA or relevant medical confidentiality regulations.
Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and continuing medical education (CME) sessions.
Quality and Compliance:
Adhere to hospital/clinic policies, procedures, and medical standards, ensuring the best practices in patient care.
Participate in audits and quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of healthcare delivery.
Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, technologies, and treatment modalities in their specialty area.
Patient Interaction:
Communicate with patients and their families in a compassionate, professional, and clear manner.
Address patient concerns and provide emotional support as necessary.
Educate patients on treatment options, procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
Qualifications:
Education:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
Licensure:
