Logistic Officer

A Logistics Officer manages the supply chain to ensure the efficient movement of goods, materials, and resources by coordinating transportation, inventory, and warehousing. Key responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, tracking shipments, optimizing transport routes, processing orders, resolving logistical issues, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of supplies to meet organizational goals and customer satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
Supply Chain Management:
Overseeing all aspects of the supply chain from procurement to distribution, ensuring efficiency and minimizing costs.
Inventory Management:
Monitoring inventory levels, tracking incoming and outgoing shipments, and maintaining accurate records to ensure adequate stock.
Transportation Coordination:
Planning, organizing, and coordinating the movement of goods, including selecting and managing transportation providers and optimizing routes.
Procurement Support:
Liaising with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and preparing purchase orders to acquire necessary materials and services.
Process Optimization:
Analyzing and developing standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and streamline logistics operations.
Logistical Support:
Providing support for various logistical activities, such as office moves, event support, and ensuring proper storage and handling of assets.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Strong Organizational Skills:
The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities:
The capacity to identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and develop solutions.
Technical Proficiency:
Experience with logistics software, inventory management systems, and standard office applications (Microsoft Office).
Communication Skills:
The ability to effectively communicate with suppliers, carriers, internal teams, and other stakeholders.
Knowledge of Logistics Principles:
A solid understanding of supply chain management, procurement, and relevant local laws and regulations.

Monitoring Logistics:
Tracking shipments, managing inventory, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods.
Reporting:
Preparing reports on supply chain performance, material movements, and budget requirements.
Vendor Management:
Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other logistics partners.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensuring that all logistical activities are conducted in a safe, ethical, and compliant manner, adhering to organizational and donor policies.
Travel Coordination:
Handling travel arrangements for staff, including flight bookings and accommodation.
