Purpose:

Support the BU and market unit by providing timely, accurate and cost-effective financial and management reporting in accordance with local requirements and ADM policy. Provide financial stewardship of company assets and activities by safeguarding company assets, maintaining a strong internal control environment and implementing and overseeing efficient, well-controlled financial transaction processing systems. In this role, he/she will be responsible for continuous improvement in the area of financial accounting, controlling, month-end closing process, internal controls and compliance. This also includes communication with stakeholders and a strong business partnership with local management.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting
    1. Ensure the timely development of relevant and reliable financial information to all stakeholders (local statutory reporting, MU business performance, Region and Corporate).
    2. Lead and be responsible for month-end closing process timely and ensure its accuracy and enhance its efficiency.
    3. Directly accountable for all financial information sent to the Country General Manager and Corporate Office in regard to accuracy and detail.
    4. Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
    5. Drive functional excellence through standardization of processes and continuous development of team members, ensuring agility to keep up with business needs/changes.
    6. Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax and legal regulations as well as the US GAAP group standards.
    7. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and PL review monthly.
  2. Internal Controls
    1. Ensure an effective control organization structure to support the business.
    2. Implement controls to mitigate business risks (e.g., financial, operational, inventory management and compliance risks).
    3. Drive SOX agenda to ensure effective controls are in place.
  3. Statutory Compliance and Tax
    1. Ensure compliance with all local and corporate statutory laws, rules and regulations.
    2. Identify and pursue implementation of tax saving initiatives.
    3. Lead all tax and compliance audits.
    4. Preparation of statutory financial statements/liaise with external auditors.
  4. Coaching and Leading Finance staff
    1. Build requisite general accounting, tax and administrative support capabilities in subordinates and Finance staff.

Your Profile:

Education/Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related professional qualifications.
  2. University graduation, major in Finance and Accounting. Qualified CIMA/ACCA/CPA/CMA is preferable.

Experience:

  1. Minimum 10 years of finance & accounting related role with at least 3 years experienced as controller with proven record.
  2. Prior experience in Big four accounting firm and fast paced, matrix MNC environment (US MNC preferred).
  3. Good knowledge in US GAAP and local GAAP.
  4. Familiar with all local reporting, tax, treasury and regulatory issues in Philippines.
  5. SOX internal control knowledge.
  6. Proficiency of Relevant Systems (ERP). Knowledge of ERP system such as Dynamics 365, BFC and HFM is a plus.
  7. Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Power BI and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Experience acting as a strategic business partner to management, keeping abreast of the latest economic and trading environment and the latest accounting standards and disclosure requirement.
  11. Good interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  12. Fluent in written/spoken English.
