Global Data Protection Professional (AVP)

Overview:

The ING Think Forward Strategy aims to create a differentiating customer experience by simplifying and streamlining our organization, striving for operational excellence, enhancing our performance culture, and expanding our banking capabilities. The Tribe Wholesale Data Management is a key part of this strategy, established in the COO Domain to ensure ING Wholesale Banking has reliable data that is timely, complete, accurate, adoptable, comprehensive, consistent, and appropriate. This is supported by a state-of-the-art data architecture and IT infrastructure. Data is one of the five building blocks of ING's "Accelerated Think Forward" strategy and COO's vision to become the Next Generation Digital Bank. The HR vision focuses on building the capability and engagement of our people to deliver on the bank's purpose and strategy. The Data Management team within HR Global People Services plays a critical role in implementing ING's Global Data Management Strategy across HR globally, supporting HR objectives and ensuring global standardization and adoption.

If you are good at:

  • Driving implementation of the Data Management Minimum Standards in the Data Owners/Stewards community
  • Promoting organizational awareness and updating governance documentation, data inventory, policies, processes, quality, architecture, etc.
  • Monitoring compliance with the GPDP- Global Personal Data Protection (via KCT) and relevant data governance policies
  • Supporting ING business management in identifying, assessing, judging, and addressing data ethical dilemmas
  • Tracking and executing GDPP-related activities within the BU, including scheduled activities and meetings
  • Aligning functionally with local data DPE-Office employees and helping BUs close iRisk issues
  • Providing support for 1st line data protection responsibilities in business lines and support functions, maintaining relationships with 2nd line stakeholders
  • Maintaining the information asset register, data privacy impact assessments, and data classification reporting
  • Managing data breach notifications and the resolution of data protection incidents, reporting to NFRC and the Bank Data Protection Officer
  • Monitoring Data Retention and Deletion working instructions and ensuring compliance within Global HR

  • Capable of quick GAP analysis, setting priorities, and implementing corrective actions
  • Interested in data protection and comfortable working in an international context
  • Excellent in social skills and effective communication
  • Skilled in collaboration and facilitation
  • Transparent, flexible, and able to operate at operational and executive levels
  • Experienced in program management, preferably internationally
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written)
  • Knowledgeable in data management and/or IT, policy formation, data protection, and data ethics
  • Results-oriented with a strategic outlook and ability to align with overall strategies
  • Capable of building relationships across functions and geographies, communicating complex ideas effectively

  • Monitor data governance/protection activities, identify gaps, and ensure proper documentation and policy adoption
  • Engage and support data consumption and protection efforts within the business
  • Coordinate actions, providing guidance, templates, and documentation where centralized approaches are needed
  • Share best practices and identify opportunities to improve data management and protection processes
