Work Arrangement:

This role is categorized as hybrid on day shift. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role:

The AR/AP Accounting Analyst is responsible for overseeing and analyzing the company's accounts receivable and accounts payable processes. This role involves close collaboration with the Conduent Team, a third-party service provider, to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and receipts. The analyst is also responsible for month-end closing activities, including calculating provisions for doubtful accounts, posting manual journals, preparing reports, and working closely with various business contacts to align and resolve business requirements. Additionally, the role requires adherence to GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements, serving as the main point of contact for internal and external audits. The analyst identifies and drives resolution for accounting or control-related issues within their area and leads process improvements and innovations to streamline existing processes.

What You'll Do:

  1. Perform General Ledger functions; assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  2. Identify, interpret and analyze potential accounting risks and issues.
  3. Research and analyze accounting transactions and contracts.
  4. Identify and execute internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures.
  5. Partner with Finance to determine accounting implications of transactions and perform analytical analyses to utilize when making all material business decisions.
  6. Assist with internal and external financial reporting - including analyzing consolidated results, drafting SEC documents and management review reports, ensuring quality, and administering strict timelines.
  7. Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement.
  8. Research and interpret new accounting standards and brainstorm how each applies to GM as well as comply with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  1. Proficiency in accounting software, knowledge of accounting principles and practice, strong analytical skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication (written & verbal), strong problem-solving skills, result-driven, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or relevant field.
  3. Two to four years of experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable or accounting role, though fresh graduates with good scholastic records are also welcome.
  4. Willingness to work hybrid on day shift.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  1. Certified Public Accountant (preferred but not required).
  2. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  3. Good communication and presentation skills.
