About the Role

We are seeking aSenior Backend Engineerto join our client's team and take charge of their backend architecture and AWS infrastructure. This is an opportunity to lead a team, mentor other engineers, and make a real impact by building scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs and ensuring that their infrastructure is robust and secure.

Key Responsibilities

Communication:Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English

Backend Development:Lead the design, development, and maintenance of RESTful APIs using Node.js/Express.

AWS Infrastructure:Manage and optimize AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3), ensuring high availability and performance.

Database Management:Oversee relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), focusing on query optimization, data integrity, and high availability.

CI/CD Pipelines:Assist in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (preferably using GitHub Actions) to ensure smooth and automated deployments.

Security Best Practices:Implement secure data handling, encryption, and IAM policies to protect sensitive information.

Infrastructure Management:Take ownership of Terraform scripts for infrastructure as code management, ensuring efficient and consistent AWS infrastructure provisioning.

Required Skills and Experience

Node.js / Express:Proven experience in building and scaling RESTful APIs.

AWS Experience:Familiarity with core AWS services like EC2, RDS, and S3.

Database Expertise:Strong proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), including query optimization and managing high availability.

CI/CD Pipelines:Experience with automated deployment pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).

Security Best Practices:Knowledge of secure data handling, encryption, and AWS IAM policies.

Terraform:Willingness to learn and take ownership of Terraform scripts for infrastructure management.
