Responsible enough in executing the required duties of an Occupational Health Nurse in the company, work together with the Corporate Company Physician in the clinic management, wellness program, health risk assessment, promotion and surveillance, and medical management of all the employees and stakeholders of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work together with the Corporate Company Physician (CCP) in determining the likelihood and severity of health risks and lifestyle indices, assess risk against standards to evaluate the significance or urgency and provide corrective measures like immunizations, safety regulations and other health campaigns.
- Aid in creating and managing return-to-work plans for employees recovering from injury or illness, ensuring a smooth transition back to work.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee health information, treatments provided, and any work-related incidents based on data privacy act.
- Manage clinic supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and operational functionality.
Health Promotion and Wellness Management
- Educate employees on health maintenance and disease prevention, lifestyle and wellness through workshops, informational sessions, and health-wide activities.
- Assist in creating and implementing health and wellness programs tailored to employee and stakeholder needs.
- Serve as the focal person in some health promotion programs aligned with the wellness campaign of the company.
- Develop comprehensive health assessment protocols and conduct regular initial and periodic health screenings and assessments for employees to ensure workplace safety standards are met in collaboration with the CCP.
- Assist the CCP in the medical review, assessment, and evaluation of pre-employment medical examinations, annual physical examinations, exit medical examinations, transfer medical examination, separation medical examination, and other special medical examinations.
Illness and Injury Care and Prevention
- Act as the triage in identifying illnesses and injuries promptly for screening, medical examinations, and appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Assist the CCP in providing appropriate medical care and rehabilitation for illnesses and injuries including medication, supportive or physical therapy or even minor bedside procedures as the case may be.
- Provide basic first aid and basic life support to patients or employees in need.
- Provide nursing care to injured or ill workers.
- Carry out referral orders of CCP to Specialists, tests, procedures to any medical facilities and emergency rooms for employees as advised by the CCP.
Occupational Health
- Assist in evaluating tasks that might pose a risk to employee health and suggest modifications to mitigate such risks.
- In the absence of the CCP, organize and administer a health service program integrating occupational safety, otherwise, these activities of the nurse shall be in accordance with the physician.
- Participate in health maintenance examinations. If a physician is not available, perform work activities which are within the scope allowed by the nursing profession, and if more extensive examinations are needed, refer the same to a physician.
- Participate in the maintenance of occupational health and safety by giving suggestions in the improvement of the working environment affecting the health and well-being of the workers.
- Maintain a reporting and records system, and, if a physician is not available, prepare and submit an annual medical report, using form DOLE/BWC/HSD/OH47, to the employer, as required by this Standards.
- Participate and recommend emergency response plans in coordination with the safety department.
Medical Clinic Management
- In the absence of the CCP, oversee daily operations of the clinic to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Create protocols, policies, and standard operating procedures on the clinic process and occupational health standard regulatory policies.
- Together with the CCP, spearhead the creation of electronic medical records (EMR) from the current clinic health system.
- Work closely with HR, safety teams, and healthcare providers to support workplace health initiatives and resolve health-related employee issues.
- Perform other related tasks as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
- PRC licensed Nurse.
- Occupational Health Nurse / OHNAP certified member/ BOSH training equivalent is an advantage.
- Safety Officer (So1/So2/So3) is an advantage.
- First Aid Training Certified (updated).
- Experience as Corporate Company Nurse (BPO/Manning or other industries) for a minimum of 2 years.
- Experience handling HMO & utilization management and other mandated benefits is an advantage.
- Excellent experience in MS Office (Excel etc.) is a must.
- Experience handling wellness programs is an advantage. Willing to work on night shift and face to face in Makati. Experience as team lead or supervisor is an advantage.
