JOB ROLE: CHIEF OPERATIONS COMPTROLLER

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Chief Operations Comptroller plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing business operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and strategic growth. This position is responsible for designing and implementing operational frameworks, driving process improvements, and fostering cross-functional alignment with corporate objectives. By leveraging data-driven strategies and automation, the role enhances operational resilience and future-proofs business functions.

Additionally, the Chief Operations Comptroller ensures regulatory compliance, conducts risk assessments, and develops crisis management plans to safeguard business continuity. They collaborate with executive leadership to identify growth opportunities, integrate emerging technologies, and maintain a competitive edge in the industry.

As a key leader, this role also focuses on organizational development by mentoring team leaders, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving collaboration across departments. The Chief Operations Comptroller provides strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors and General Manager, ensuring that operations align with the company's long-term vision and objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Operational Oversight & Process Optimization
  • Design and implement operational frameworks and controls to ensure seamless execution of business functions.
  • Identify inefficiencies and develop data-driven process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize resource utilization.
  • Oversee cross-functional coordination to ensure alignment of operations with corporate goals.
  • Drive automation initiatives to future-proof business processes.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
  • Establish and enforce operational policies and compliance protocols to meet regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular operational audits to assess risk exposure and ensure adherence to industry best practices.
  • Lead crisis management and business continuity planning, ensuring operational resilience in a dynamic business environment.
Business Development & Strategic Growth
  • Partner with management to identify and implement strategic business expansion opportunities.
  • Evaluate market trends and construction industry developments to anticipate challenges and optimize operations accordingly.
  • Drive the integration of new technologies, systems, and methodologies to support business growth and competitiveness against competitors.
Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Develop and mentor high-performing team leaders, supervisors, and managers.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation within the organization.
  • Spearhead cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring all teams work towards common operational goals.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors and the General Manager, ensuring operations remain aligned with our vision.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 5+ years of experience related to operations management, compliance, and business process improvement.
  • Proven expertise in regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and operational governance across multiple business functions.
  • Strong background in business transformation, process reengineering, and strategic expansion.
  • Exceptional leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in working with C-suite executives and the Board of Directors.
  • Industry certifications in operations, compliance, construction/ engineering or process management are highly preferred (Lean Six Sigma Certification, Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified Regulatory Compliance Professional, ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor (Quality Management Systems for Construction), Project Management Professional (PMP), Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) Certification, Certified Engineering Manager (CEM) and the likes).
