Hatch + Hoolman Studio is a neighborhood café, art studio, and events space looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to lead our kitchen operations.
We are looking for someone who values quality, consistency, creativity, and teamwork. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, and capable of managing daily kitchen operations while contributing to menu development and the overall dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily food preparation, cooking, plating, and kitchen workflow to ensure efficient service.
- Food Quality & Consistency: Maintain high standards in food taste, presentation, portioning, and recipe execution.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with management on new dishes, seasonal offerings, recipe improvements, and menu costing.
- Inventory & Purchasing: Monitor ingredient stocks, coordinate supplier orders, manage food costs, and minimize wastage.
- Food Safety & Sanitation: Ensure compliance with food handling, cleanliness, storage, and kitchen safety standards.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and guide kitchen staff while promoting accountability and teamwork.
- Events & Special Services: Coordinate food preparation and kitchen requirements for private events, catering, and special functions.
Qualifications
- At least 2–3 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in a café, restaurant, or similar hospitality establishment.
- Experience supervising kitchen operations or leading a small kitchen team.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen organization.
- Familiarity with inventory management, purchasing, recipe costing, and portion control.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain consistent food quality.
- Creative, detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive.
- Willing to work on weekends and holidays as required by operations.
