Job Title: Payroll Accountant
Job Summary: The Payroll Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This includes calculating wages, processing deductions, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. The Payroll Accountant will work closely with the accounting team and the advisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly, monthly, or weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy in timesheet data and payroll adjustments.
- Calculate earnings, deductions, and bonuses for employees.
- Maintain employee payroll records, including tax forms, salary changes, and benefits elections.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations, wage laws, and benefits regulations.
- Handle inquiries from employees regarding payroll, pay discrepancies, and deductions.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to accounting and government agencies.
- Process payroll taxes and ensure proper payment to federal, state, and local tax authorities.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end reports, including W-2 forms, and ensure proper filing.
- Update and maintain payroll system data, including employee status, pay rates, and tax information.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.
- Assist with audits and internal reviews related to payroll processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 1 - 3 years of payroll experience.
- Previous work experience in hospitality is preferred.
- Knowledge of payroll software, accounting software, and Google Sheets.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Adhere to GAAP accounting principles.
