Organizations not only face regulatory impacts, but also expectations for action from a wide range of stakeholders, including employees, investors, lenders, customers, and suppliers.

At SGV, we help organizations identify, develop, and deliver strategies that address risk and opportunity while measuring effectiveness. Our Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team is growing.

Job Summary

Your key responsibilities

  • Assist clients in developing strategies and solutions to embed sustainability in their business operations, risk management, systems, and processes.
  • Advise and assist clients on their compliance to local and international frameworks on sustainability-related disclosures (e.g., ISSB, TCFD), including on sustainability strategies, climate risks, carbon emissions, governance, and social indicators.
  • Help clients assess and evaluate sustainability-related risks and opportunities related to their business strategy, products, or services, such as related to decarbonization, climate risks, sustainability disclosures, environment, environmental safety, etc.
  • Support in engagements related to sustainability strategy development, sustainability transformation, decarbonization, energy transition, carbon markets, climate resilience assessment, sustainable finance, etc.
  • Develop high-quality reports, presentations, and client deliverables that effectively communicate sustainability insights, ESG risks and opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Conduct data analytics to analyze and interpret sustainability data to identify ESG trends, risks, and opportunities for data visualization and insights generation.
  • Provide engagement support, including project coordination, research, stakeholder communication, scheduling meetings, and tracking deliverables to ensure seamless execution of sustainability advisory projects.
  • Develop and continually improve understanding and knowledge of sustainability areas such as climate-related physical and transition risks, climate change mitigation and adaptation, decarbonization, nature-based solutions, sustainability disclosures and regulation, greenhouse gas accounting, among others.
  • Contribute and support activities towards the efficient internal operations and sustained prominence of SGV's climate change and sustainability services practice.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in the following fields or related disciplines: Management, Applied Economics/Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, Applied Finance/Finance, Environmental Sciences, etc.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Preferably with 1-3 years of professional experience in sustainability, development sector, consulting, finance, economics/macroeconomics, risk management, climate change, banking or other related functions.
  • Sustainability trainings and certifications are a plus.
