POSITION DESCRIPTION – ACCOUNTANT

Reports to

Finance Manager

Job Description

The Accountant is responsible for creating and maintaining the Company's financial records. They facilitate the success of other business functions by providing accurate and timely information to staff and external stakeholders as required.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Reconcile bank accounts daily
  • Apply customer payments per remittances received and resolve any variances
  • Manage online payment portal for customer payments
  • Follow up overdue debtors and delegate or escalate to other team members as required
  • Enter supplier invoices, credit card expenses and employee expense claims, ensuring company controls and approval requirements are adhered to
  • Attend to emails in shared mailbox accounts
  • Maintain an electronic filing system
  • Provide periodical and ad hoc reports to Management as directed
  • Escalate critical issues to Management as they arise
  • Participate in continuous improvement strategies for system and workflow enhancements
  • Pursue self-directed study to keep abreast of developments in the hair care and accounting industries, relevant software and statutory requirements
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as required.
  • Must have NETSUITE experience
