Overview

We are seeking a Tax Manager to join the Tax team. We are a full-service accounting firm providing assurance, tax, and consulting services with a focus on mortgage banking and private lending practice. This person will need to be strong in interacting closely with clients and provide them with a full spectrum of individual, partnership, corporate, estate, and trust services and you will be working closely with the management team and staff on practice development, client management, and business development.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation and review of individual and corporate tax returns
  • Preparation and review of US sales and use tax returns
  • Help taxpayers by using their federal, state, and local codes and see to it that clients receive the maximum benefit permitted under the law of government
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to the team
  • Handle sales call to potential clients
  • Manage and implement various improvement projects
  • Manage the KPI of the team
  • Support the director in terms of the business strategy of the team and of the company
Qualifications
  • CPA license required
  • IRS Enrolled Agent License is required
  • 5-8 years of experience in public accounting focusing in taxation
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Master degree in Taxation preferred)
  • Self-motivated and a problem solver, providing value to their clients through analyzing and interpreting tax policy, advising corporations on intricate tax matters while keeping up with changing complex tax compliances.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong tax knowledge and the ability to be analytical, do research, critical thinking and decision making
  • Experience with a wide variety of entity types including C and S corporations, partnerships and individuals
  • Experience with multi-state taxation, real estate funds, private equity funds or banking and financial institutions is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to mentor and develop professional staff
  • Good project management and time management skills, well organized and detail-oriented
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.
