The Group

The Joint Development Team (JDT) is a small, independent, cross-disciplinary group whose charter is to accelerate the development of key components, systems, algorithms, and techniques necessary to advance the state of the art in targeted areas and to collaborate with focused product development teams to get these advances to the marketplace. Current and future research areas include advanced medical devices, energy metering and fault detection, high-speed imaging, security electronics, ultra-precision references and data converters. The group is led by Analog Devices Fellow JED Hurwitz, a pioneer in CMOS imaging, recognized expert in ultra-high precision, and of broad industrial experience. The group culture aims to foster a challenging, exciting, and supportive environment. The team members must be comfortable working on a wide variety of products and technologies in a fast-paced and agile environment and will be exposed to various groups across the corporation's many sites through all stages of the development cycle.

The exact role and responsibilities of the engineer will be determined by project requirements, candidate's skill set, and developmental goals. It will be from a choice of digital design, digital verification, or digital implementation. In essence, design encompasses the coding of RTL to perform various functions in the digital domain. Verification is the rigorous testing of the RTL to ensure design satisfies the behavior demanded by the specifications. Implementation is the use of various tools to translate the RTL into a manufacturable layout while meeting various conditions.

In the future, the engineer is expected to gradually develop a broad skill set in a variety of disciplines. The intent is to start with the initial role then the engineer will be gradually exposed and developed in all three disciplines. Future projects may require the engineer to switch between developed roles as needed.

• Willing to study and perform roles in fields adjacent to digital design such as verification or implementation
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively depending on the circumstances
• Good understanding of the fundamentals of electronic devices and circuit theory
• Good verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

Graduate of a bachelor's degree/master's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering or a related field.
