The IT Security Department is responsible for safeguarding the organization's data assets and mitigating risks associated with insider threats and data loss. A primary focus is on Data Security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Insider Risk Management (IRM) to ensure data protection, compliance, and early detection of insider risks. The Cyber GRC Analyst will play a critical role in protecting the company's sensitive data and managing risks from both internal and external threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead data security assessments to identify vulnerabilities in how sensitive data (PII, Financial Data, Intellectual property) is handled, ensuring effective protections are in place.
  • Implement and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls to monitor, detect, and prevent unauthorized access, sharing, or exfiltration of critical data.
  • Oversee and manage Insider Risk Management (IRM) programs, focusing on identifying and mitigating risks posed by internal actors, including employees, contractors, or trusted third parties.
  • Develop and enforce insider risk management policies and procedures, ensuring that insider threats are proactively identified, investigated, and mitigated.
  • Work closely with Human Resources and Legal Departments to conduct and manage insider threat investigations, including gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor DLP and IRM tools to detect unusual data access or usage patterns, identifying potential insider threats before they materialize into significant incidents.
  • Perform regular audits of user behavior, data access, and data handling practices to detect any potential risks or security violations.
  • Conduct forensic investigations related to insider threats, analyzing user activity, system logs, and data access records to uncover malicious or negligent behavior.
  • Collaborate with the Security Operations Center (SOC) to respond to data security incidents, focusing on insider-related breaches or suspicious activities.
  • Stay informed about emerging insider risk management tools, technologies, and methodologies, leveraging best practices to continuously improve the company's insider risk management programs.
  • Assist with the refinement of data security and insider risk management policies, ensuring that they are aligned with the company's broader risk management and compliance objectives.

Expertise Needed:

  • Data Security and DLP: Experience in managing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies, including configuring and optimizing DLP tools to prevent unauthorized data access or exfiltration.
  • Insider Risk Management (IRM): Expertise in insider threat detection, risk assessment, and investigative techniques to manage risks posed by internal actors.
  • Incident Response and Forensics: Proficiency in conducting forensic investigations related to insider threats, including analyzing digital evidence, user behavior, and system logs.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Strong understanding of risk assessments and compliance requirements related to data protection and insider risk in highly regulated industries.
  • Behavioral Analytics and Monitoring: Experience with tools that track user activity, data access, and unusual patterns of behavior that could indicate potential insider risks.
  • Collaboration with HR and Legal: Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including HR and Legal departments to handle sensitive insider risk cases and investigations.
  • Security Awareness: Knowledge of developing security awareness programs to educate employees on insider risks and how to avoid becoming a threat vector.

Qualifications:

  • University education (BS/BA) in a relevant field such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in communicating sensitive data security issues and investigation findings.
  • Experience working with DLP Platforms and Insider Risk Management tools (e.g., Microsoft Insider Risk Management, Forcepoint Insider Threat, ObserveIT).
  • Forensic investigation experience with insider threats, including working with system logs, access controls, and user activity monitoring.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and how they relate to insider risks and data security.
  • Ability to collaborate with global cross-functional teams to effectively manage insider risk investigations and mitigate threats.
  • Experience working in compliance-driven environments, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards related to data security and insider threats.
