The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supervising the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment (excluding Main Turbine and Turbine Control Systems) in the geothermal power plant. This position involves supervising RCM specialists, planning and implementing maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

• Maintenance Management
  • Maintenance Delivery: Supervise the overhauling, upgrade, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks on mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Perform tests to ensure equipment functions according to operational standards and verify that maintenance work meets quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources including manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and withdrawal of inventory items for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Maintenance Planning: Define the scope of each maintenance task with detailed work descriptions, needed resources, and safety precautions based on manuals, procedures, and historical data.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Create and update a detailed maintenance schedule aligned with plant priorities using computer systems, adjusting in real-time for emergencies.
  • Documentation and Reports: Consolidate documents and test results, review for trends or recurring problems that may require action or strategy changes.
  • Maintenance Strategy: Apply RCM tools (FMECA, Asset Condition Assessment, Asset Criticality Analysis, etc.) to improve reliability, prioritize activities, and optimize costs.
• Safety, Environmental and Compliance
  • SHE Compliance: Enforce policies and best practices within the mechanical team, promoting safety awareness and risk mitigation.
  • Risk Management: Conduct Task Risk Analysis (TRA) for maintenance tasks and implement risk mitigation measures.
• Budget and Cost Management
  • Budget Planning and Allocation: Collaborate with RCM specialists to recommend annual maintenance budgets and cost estimates.
  • Cost Control: Conduct cost-benefit analyses and financial evaluations for projects and improvements to assess economic viability.
  • Procurement Execution: Initiate procurement processes and purchase requisitions following procedures and budgets.
  • Procurement Coordination: Coordinate procurement activities, order fulfillment, and delivery logistics with vendors to ensure timely delivery of resources.
  • Procurement Monitoring: Monitor procurement transactions and records for accuracy and compliance.
• Stakeholder Communication and Management
  • Internal Communication: Coordinate between maintenance teams, production, and other departments to align priorities and schedules.
  • External Communication: Interface with external contractors, vendors, and service providers for maintenance services and procurement.
  • Change Management: Support process improvements and technological advancements, communicating changes and benefits to stakeholders.
• Staff Development and Human Resources
  • Training and Skill Enhancement: Conduct training and knowledge transfer to improve technical competencies.
  • Assist in performance evaluations, competency assessments, and feedback sessions for maintenance staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate superior.

• Must be a Registered Mechanical Engineer
• With at least two (2) years of relevant professional experience in geothermal, thermal, industrial, or similarly complex operational environments
• Must possess strong technical competency, including hands-on experience in executing maintenance tasks, knowledge of power plant operations (including steam field systems), proficiency with tools, heavy equipment, and test instruments, and familiarity with plant-related software and systems. Must be capable of analyzing data to enhance maintenance strategies and plant performance
