Intermediate QA Tester

About This Job

The QA Automation Engineer is responsible for writing code to automatically test various areas of Axos core functionality, including Web UI, SQL databases, REST APIs, and Mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements automated tests within our current framework and infrastructure.
• Reviews new and existing user stories to ensure a good understanding of Axos bank core functionality.
• Writes new and updates existing test cases as needed.
• Responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and applying business rules and logic to ensure a high level of software quality, consistency, and repeatability.
• Works closely with Project, Product, Development, and Production Support teams to meet agreed-upon deliverables.
• Develops and executes automated tests for EDW and ETL processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Performs database testing to validate data consistency, accuracy, and performance.
• Utilizes automation tools and frameworks to enhance test coverage and efficiency.

Required Skills

• Automation Testing: Proficiency in developing and executing automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Testim, or similar.
• Programming Languages: Strong coding skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Database Testing: Experience with SQL and database testing to ensure data integrity and performance.
• EDW and ETL Testing: Hands-on experience with testing EDW and ETL processes, including data validation and transformation.
• API Testing: Proficiency in testing REST APIs using tools like Postman or similar.
• CI/CD Integration: Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
• Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices and participation in sprint planning and review meetings.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve defects and issues.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1-4 years in quality assurance required, with specific experience in automation testing, EDW, ETL, and database testing.
